Instagram’s new profile layout under testing
Instagram’s new profile layout seems simple, neat and expressive. In a recent BLOG POST from Instagram they revealed by quoting it as “improving your Instagram profile”. The photo social network is one of the most widely used app in recent times. According to the report of Statista , instagram leads from the front when compared to most used apps in recent times
As per the graph above, if we see the number of active users Instagram has per month, we can easily calculate that how much popular it is. As far as age of most active users is concerned, Instagram is most popular with in an age group of 18-34.
Being the most popular social network Instagram do care about their users’ experience , hence they are testing a new profile layout , which will not only bring the change but will also change the look and feel of the profile. The prime focus of new layout is to focus on the user’s profile picture name and Follow button. User’s will now be able to see mutual followers to (just as mutual friends on Facebook). The update gets rid of some of the icons on profiles and replaces them with literal text. Rather than icons for each tab, they are now properly labeled with text, which should make them much clearer to those users who might not know what the tab icons mean

Instagram stated that:
”Over the next several weeks, you may see features re-arranged at the top of your profile including changes to icons, buttons and the way you navigate between tabs, which we hope will make profiles easier and cleaner to use. The photos and videos you’ve shared on your grid won’t change.”
Instagram’s New Profile Layout makes the Instagram app simpler and cleaner than ever. Instagram’s New Profile Layout revolves around the appearance of profiles. The profile icon is now on the right and follower count is no longer there on the very top. Otherwise, Instagram has removed the post count from the profile view. The description is also placed directly to the left of the profile icon. Instagram further stated that:
We’ve been working on these changes and will test them in phases and different combinations with our community over the next several weeks. We’ll continue to experiment and update the experience as we learn from your feedback.
